It's funny but also true. Well, was true. Believe it or not about 18 months ago there was a chap selling some vintage cars on rctech here in Australia. There were a few cars that spurred my interest and I had to make a decission. The first being a new condition Marui Ninja, the second a new Hirobo Alien Mid4 and the third being a new yellow caged Javelin. All three cars were new built but had some shelf wear from being improperly stored so they weren't absolutely mint. The Javelin was missing some odd parts but the cage was new and intact.
As it happened a good friend of mine was looking for a Jav so I told him of the pending deal. The seller was asking $300 each car. I took the Marui and Hirobo for $550 and my buddy grabbed the Jav. He was stoked to finaly own a Jav and I even helped him out with some parts to make it complete plus a new Option House motor guard. It wasn't long before the true value of this car was becoming apparent and he finaly gave in and sold it off for close to $1000. I wouldn't say that I regret letting him know but I do wish that he might have held on to that one. No drama's though as this tends to be the nature of the vintage collectors scene and values often push us to recoop some of the expenses we make.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I thought that that would be something impossible, what are the odds...?
I would like to complete my Javelin collection with the green and yellow, but I know that I would have to be either a millionare with a scout or the luckiest man on earth to get the remaining two. So my other option is just to get two more Javelins and paint the cages, maybe dye them. By the way which is the rarest between the green and yellow? |
