Default Crazy camber link angle !!!

Hi all ,

Just fitted some exotec alu hubs on my 210 , when combined with the Tresrey camber link plate I got this crazy angle !!

Will it be okay ? Can't say I noticed such a steep angle when the kit hubs were fitted !

How will the car handle with the camber links like this ?

Thanks in advance

I have the same setup, but my angles look much more normal.

Thats cos I have no spacer under the stub on the hubs, no spacer under the stud on the inside and 3 spacers under the Tresrey link itself raising it upwards.

Of course on mine I've also reversed the rear shocks so whilst the camber links angle is normal in the vertical plane its a little weird in the horizontal.

Could you maybe mount your ballstuds on the top of the carbon camber plate?

According to the little piece of paper that came with mine, you need 3mm of spacers under the tresrey camberlink piece when running MM.

i don´t understand why people throw so much money in tuningstuff like this to make the car less good.

This.

You need to raise the whole camber plate.

Also, how come you're running it in MM3 not MM4?

Because I don't really care if I finish first or last ! I just like my cars to look the nuts ! And if I can get them round the track in a reasonable time I'm happy !

So , we've established I need to put spacers under the link plate , but does anyone know what characteristics the car will have if I run it as it is ?

Cheers

Simply because I tried it in MM3 before MM4 and it seemed to be okay , I don't always run on astro so I thought the less amount of "mechanical grip" you get with MM3 would be okay also on grass, I might switch it though as the first regional starts next Monday !

Does it make that much difference ?? Be interested to know

Your car will have less forward traction out of turns, swing in more and feel planted in mid corner, be good on a bumpy track but could get unstable. The Biggest problem is that your roll centre is alot higher than standard and will only get higher. HTH's

Thanks Simon

I've now put spacers under the link plate which has flattened out the angle , in future then , if I remove the spacers under the ball studs too this will level the links more so will this improve handling on a smoother , high speed type track ?

Thanks for the help

Generally lower on the inside the less grip there is. Smooth, high grip parallel is better.

From what I have been told in the Durango fellas in my club you should have the driveshaft level and not to have it at an angle as by having it level the car will jump better but I don't think that will do but if you have already put the spacers in and make your driveshaft level the car should be perfect and my 210 has that sort of setup and jumps brilliantly and handles great through the sharp bends on my track.

Hopes this helps

3mm washers under both the ballstud and Tresrey carbon plate, gives the same link height as the kit build.

Get yourself a copy of the hudy setup guide. It covers all the stuff like this.
