Default Is 18amp (25 burst) esc enough?

Just built the EMB kit and found a 2nd hand speed passion 5200kv motor on fleabay.
I already have a micro esc (taken from one of those hobby king 1/18 combo deals) and wondered if this is man enough for the job?
I will be running the car on 2s lipo

Hi Chris!

Congrats on choosing the EMB kit, havent seen one in the flesh, but it looks good!

Can I point you in the direction of the UK Micro Forum (http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/)

I would think that speedo is more of the 1/18th scale (smaller micro) variety, nearly everyone on the micro National scene is running the Exrun 35 or 60A speedos which can be had on ebay for about £3-35.

They are very smooth, and include hand held programmer for adjustments. You might need to remove the fan on the 60A speedo, but it should fit okay.

The std motor looks okay in the EMB kit, but as I say I havent seen one in the flesh yet. The Carisma motors seem popular, and they should soon be releasing a 5700kV version, which would be perfect for racing. Keep an eye out on the micro forum, as their could well be some 4500kv std carisma/losi mini 8 motors floating about too, which are ideal if you are starting out!

Hope this helps
Mark
