Question ATD friction disk on a B44 : limited slip diff

Hi,

I wonder if someone already tried to use the friction disk found on the NTC3 diffs on the front end of an electric TC3-based buggy. It should be useful to lock partially the diff without chewing up rings and balls, and it's less extreme than a spool. A kind of limited slip differential.

This is the item:

It looks like you also need a NTC3 diff gear:

Any ideas, experience, Elvo or B-Mag expertise is welcome

Okay, so it's possible. You tried it on the front, right? Is the adjustment progressive, or do you end up witha very tight diff?

I tried it front, front and rear, it did just feel like a very tight diff, the car hooked a lot with it too. I suppose it it progressive but it just felt wrong, when it doesnt slip the diff just feels too tight and has virtually no diff action.

Whatever Lee said! And the B44 is faster than the 501X! :-)

LiPo + brushless + 4WD = urgent need for LSD's

Maybe we could "work" the pads to have less friction, making notches? Just a thought.

I think it would have to be a different material, possibly ptfe or teflon, something that will slip consistantly.but you dont want to crush the spacerbetween the diff halves
