Default Slipper clutch question

Does anybody oil the pads in a slipper clutch? I didn't and the clutch pretty much refused to slip. Then I did and now it's nice - smooth and linear.

Just wondered.....

Um, no. Your slipper was either set too tight in the first place, or you didn't load it enough to check properly.
Or you've got gluey fingers on it.
They slip perfectly well with out oil, in fact, I would suspect that now you've oiled them, they will slip all the time, rather than just for the first metre or two from the start line.
