I'm trying not to be biased ... but I'm not sure what you will get from the SV2 that you can't get from your Durango .... other than being British I suppose

I wonder if the lack of them on track says something?!?

Not sure I've seen many in our area...or at Caldicot? Have seen plenty on the national circuit though.

Anyway, I've not tried one...so can't comment myself!

Think Mike Manning has one now, and has been getting some setup tips from Trish (of TrishBits) who's a team driver and Schumacher employee now I think...so he'll have the latest insider knowledge at this point.

I've had most of the 2WD's and the Durango is just outstanding, surprised you want to change! If you're currently running mid I would be inclined to try a rear motored car our? My T4 handles so well over the bumps!

It's down to personal preference. I had an SV2 and liked it, I had a DEX210 and thought it was s**t but thats mostly down to the way I drive probably. One car might be good for one person and not another.

We were at Maritime Raceway the weekend for the two day off road wars world cup and there were some of the best drivers in Europe there. Now I believe out of the top 10 A finalists there were two SV2's (Tom Cockerill and Lloyd Storey) so they can't be that bad.

One thing the DEX210 has over the SV2 is spares prices, if you crash a lot then the 210 will be cheaper for you. Other 2wd cars to think of are.......
  • Yokomo B-Max 2 MR
  • Kyosho RB6
  • Team C TM2
  • Associated C4.1
Any of the above in the right hands are great cars (and in the wrong hands good cars).

Ive been running for the Schumacher team since August last year after running a DEX210, i felt the SV2 instantly quicker!

The comments regarding the original SV are irrelevant, the SV2 is a completely new car. You cant compare the two, so any comments towards that car maybe more suited to a different thread?

The Schumacer support for setups and tips is readily available through the website (www.racing-cars.com), either email one of the guys their or im at nearly all of the south west events.. Failing all of that, pm me on here!

I will quite happily give you my exact setup of both the SV2 & K1 and tell you all i know about that cars, you can even give mine a try next time!

I know Rob at South West RC keeps a variety of the Schumacher parts in stock, if there not in stock he can get hold of them very quickly.

Thank You Ryan, Yes we do carry most spares for the SV2 and the DEX210. I am running a RB6 so can not really comment so to speak.

But as a shop owner we do sell a lot more spares for the DEX210 than the SV2 is that down to the cars or the numbers that run them Locally?

All I will say is there are far more second hand DEX210 around than SV2 and even less RB6's and Yokomo's. And I know that there are a lot of SV2's out there.

I did run the first SV a couple of seasons ago and did well with it making A final everytime I raced it at Tiverton and finishing in the top 10 in the south west region. SO would say if the SV2 is better then it is a good car.

thank you gentleman for your views,

I am going to try a SV2 out of never had a Schumacher of any type, it is British and because although the dex being a good car that there is no doubt, I just find the need to buy after Market spares to supplement the importer not having them poor.

regards

Neale

thanks for all the replies, if a car wins the British championship in 2010 it can not be that bad and after digging in to the Schumacher histor,y they seem to be quite a front leader with new concepts, with some work and some that don't.
