Default LRP Sphere 2007 MODE button faulty

The mode button on my 2007 LRP Sphere is playing up.

I can push and push and it only registers say 1 out of 5 goes, this makes changing modes a real pain.

Can I get this done under warranty and to whom should I send it?

Checked the LRP website and there is no email address on there for advice.

Thanks.

My set button is very stubborn sometimes too, but it feels like a software issue because if you exit and try again it seems to repond instantly ??

I spoke to Horizon and the guy said sometimes dirt gets under the button.

His advice was to push the button 30 times or so to try and shift it.

Failing that try a compressed air can to blow in it.

I asked if opening the unit invalidated the warranty and he said no, as long as the serial is intact. The serial is sort of stuck on the side and is on a solid piece of plastic, not over a join.

So I took mine apart carefully (very very carefully) and blew, sucked, wafted and dusted - now it works great! You'd be amazed at how much grass and soil dust was in it.

My advice, give the above a try first - it worked for me.

Be very careful when removing the bottom board within the ESC though (there are two stacked on top of each other). The two boards are connected by vertical push pins - so try and lift the board evenly from all sides. I gently prised around the edges with a small flat head screwdriver until it lifted off. Not too hard when you know how.

Oh yeah, and observe the old static rule - wear a wristband to be sure or just don't touch anything like I did.

Hope this fixes some of your buttons too.
