Hi I'm just wondering with these design of cars do you have to lock the disused out drive
As I'm playing with a project but at the moment as sound as I put power to the diff in the middle it spins the disused half
If I put a driver to hold it in place it spins to the rear correctly
So how did you guys overcome this problem or does it not do this with a ball diff (center) as mines got a balls diff
Any help is most welcome
Cheers

I think on both of the cars you mentioned its a slipper in the middle, not a diff...if you have a centre diff that you're trying to only drive one end of the car with then yeah, you'll need to lock it out

Sorry I understand that bit is it better to buy a slipper setup and just take the unused out drive off
Would that send power to the rear .?
Or still to the front as well cheers

It would send power to both front and rear as its a slipper. If your using a diff in the centre then you will need to lock the front outdrive, i don't think you will get a nice smooth drive doing that though ?, slipper is best.

Is it a centre slipper you have now or a diff? If you have a diff in the middle and one end is connected to a drive train and the other isn't its always going to spin the end with less resistance, so the free end. If its a slipper and its tight enough you should get drive to the rear wheels, it doesn't matter if there's an out drive on the front or not, not sure about the tc but the db1 uses a modified lazer slipper assembly with the front out drive machined off to provide more room, it would still work just the same even if the unused outdrive was left on, sorry if I have misunderstood your questions though what's the chassis we're talking about?

(I'm assuming that you have removed the front prop shaft as you want rear wheel drive only from a 4wd chassis)

It's a middle geared diff
It's better to use a slipper by the sounds of it which is fine
It's a micro scale I'm using a few bits and bobs from different chassis I'm there now just need to acquire the slipper assemble from the carisma or the losi
Thanks for the help

You could try using a very high diff oil, this would help lock it up.
