Question Truck tyres

Hi Guys,

I'm after some help re which tyres to buy for my T4 Truck.
I've tried various proline tyres with varying amounts of success.
I see schumacher produce truck variants of minispikes etc but also do vee2's and vee4's. However they don't appear to list what they're suitable for. Does anyone know? particularly the 'vee's' ie front/rear grass/astro etc.

I race at Southport so need something that'll work on the variety of surfaces there.

Cheers in advance,

Ian

Hi Ian

I have always used the Schumacher Blue Minispikes on the rear and Blue Stagger Ribs on the front of my trucks at Southport, and unless it is very wet, grip isn't a problem.

Sorry, but I don't know the application of the Vee tyres, 'cos I haven't used them.

I have been using Yellow Minispikes and Yellow Stagger ribs at Southport. They work well but wear fast, which is a bit frustrating at the price.

What id recommend is blue Mini's.

The Vee tyres will work on the Southport track as well as Minispikes, they will be better on grass, and should wear a little slower.

What else is worth a look is the Proline Step-pins and Bow ties, I ran M3 compound on my 4wd last sunday and they gripped like a sticky substance on a woollen blanket - even on the tarmac and concrete, and better still, they didn't wear as fast as Mini's. So if you use these, the M3 on rear and R3 or M2 on front to tame the steering, perhaps even the ribs which came in the kit! Worth a go, im tempted to purchase some to try for myself.

The original kit ribs don't work at southport.

I can vouch for the step-pins. Tremendously sticky.

I have been running the GRP Micro C tyres on my T4, they work indoors and were really good on the grass at the York regional too. They hardly seem to wear and are £9.99 a pair including some of the nice GRP moulded inserts

Not sure how well they will work if it gets wet though as they are the same 'C' compound as the buggy conespikes.
