Default NOVAK GTB AND RB5

HELP,

I have recently purchased a novak GTB and have problems with fitting it in my RB5. It seems that with the GTB in the body shell it two low. I have resorted for the present time placed the ESC on top of the battery bar holder.

Any one else had this problem and where did they place the GTB.

Cheers

Richard

Same problem with the B4, take the fan off and mount/stand on edge at side of GTB.

i run a GTB in the RB5. it is a squeeze but will just go. It helps to trim the shell a few millimetres deepre than the marked out shape. Also, take out the little spacer washers between the fan and the heatsink which will drop it a couple of mm.
The height of the speedo wasn't my problem, it was getting all the wires out of the way and tucked under the shell.

I just took a look at my GTB and think it might work with the fan side mounted.

Worth a try another thing is will this not affect cooling

I might mount a fan on both sides.

How mUch cooling is realy needed.

Cheers

If you side mount it then don;t use the stock clear fan, these are really rubbish and the blades fall off. Get a much more racing 25mm fan, these are a bit thicker at around 10mm so are easier to stick down, they also shift more air than the weak novak unit.

in 2wd you shouldn't need a huge amount of cooling, some people even run them without a fan entirely (fine in winter but in summer with a 5.5 or 6.5 you probably need the fan!). What wind motor are you using?

Currently running a 5.5 in my RB5 And i already have a much more fan fitted to the top because my stock novak one broke within 2 mins of runnings.
