I had a discussion a few weeks ago with one of the guys of Aero. At one point I asked why they used so much anti-squad and it seemed to be because they believed a lot of modern 4wd's haven't got enough weight on the rear axle, making them bouncy and unstable on bumps. The anti-squad was there to compensate for this.
I made the switch to Lipo's in my TRF501 and you can immediately notice that the centre of gravity shifts forwards a lot. I yet have to test the car with the Lipo's but I was thinking : with Lipo's, the motor as a bigger influence on the centre of gravity of a car and the DB01 has the motor in a more rearward position. Could it be that a hopped up DB01 might be the better choise when running Lipo's ? |

The CG of the Durga is actually quite close to the centre of the battery pack, so making the change to LiPo will have less effect, it will move the CG forward a little.
Compare that to the 501X, the CG is nowhere near the centre of the saddle pack, LiPo will make a much bigger difference. I wouldn't necessarily go as far as to say the DB01 is a better choice handling-wise for LiPo, but it would merit serious testing. It is definitely better in terms of the choice of cells available. |

I will try to answer it myself then.
![]() Just ordered a Durga from RC champ. At the current exchange rates, a durga kit is a bargain since I can use the belts and pulleys as spares for my TRF501X. And I also wanted to try the plastic DB01 arms on the TRF501X anyway for use in low grip situations (kinda like the plastic parts being put on a B4 factory). You can loose the bargain part since I also ordere a load of hopups. I am weak. ![]() |
