Default weights - do i need them

I am curious with the fact that everyone seems to be putting weight onto their 210's - what's that all about?
More importantly do I need them?
If that's the case which ones?
Which make?

I don't bother with all the fancy stuff. I made a 35g weight from lead sheet that goes under the servo. It does help you use more power out of corners without the front lifting.

I couldn't get on with adding rear weight but really liked running a shorty lipo in the forward position.

Im running the RDRP 65g front bulkhead. Helps to level the car in jumps, certainly aids the car under accelration and turnin.

Add some lead sheet and try it yourself, it's not that expensive and the sheet cut be cut and moulded to fit into spaces.

I tried the 65g weight in the front but for the small type of jumps we have with no down ramps it made the car nose into a heavy landing.
Loved the turn in and steering but until we get rid of some mickey mouse jumps i`ll leave it out.
This is with the dimec ,shorty lipo at the back.
No lead needed in stock chassis.
Every track is different depending on what you want the car to do.

I think it depends on the size of the track and how much traction it has. It also depends on how much your servo weighs? I've played with this at my local track, the carpet isn't really high bite. And I was faster with only 14g behind the servo then with more weight. But I have the heavy AE servo in there! I also played with a shorty and a full size pack. The shorty was a .2 faster as well.

I think with a larger track more weight would help out. Thats the great thing about a lap counter on practice days
