As I understand it, the turbo boost only works effectively on lower powered motors. I think motors in the 8.5 - 5.5 range may not benefit from the boost.

I think.

It works for all of them, its just not a good idea!

With a 10.5t on max boost my 210 can hang with others using 6.5t's on the straights but it gets seriously hot doing so. I've cooked a few motors with this setup and the esc gets pretty warm too even though its a 120A GM Genius (Without fan).
Any lower turns and you'd have to back down the boost to keep temps normal but in theory you can give some boost to virtually any motor.

I rather like the way it drives - sort of like a real turbo in that at the bottom end its quite mild but then when the boost kicks in it goes to mental quick. This suits me, especially in 2wd because I'm heavy on the throttle and this smooths the initial response out of slow corners etc. The downside is when there are jumps just after a tight corner as it lacks the punch of a lower turn motor in those conditions.

Any motor can benefit from some turbo timing but off course boosting a 6.5 is going to be too much to handle unless you got a 2km straight

Let's say you choose a motor with a higher turn than usual (8.5 instead of 7.5 for a 2wd for exemple) then add some turbo, you will have good torque and you choice of full power speed, more flexible.

On my 10.5, I could find a setting as powerful as a 7.5 but easier to manage on low speed sections.

with a good combination of boost turbo and puch with the correct gearing a 6.5 in either a 2wd or 4wd can be super quick easy to drive and not fade or drop off over a 5min run.

Plus most of the newer esc allow u decide wen the turbo kicks in. So u get even more tunability.

Happy days
