Thumbs up XX4 middle belt upgrade

Hi all,

I had some high spec rubber belts made to replace the standard polyurathane green/blue middle belt that comes with the kit.

The standard belt was great as it acted like a fuse: it generally broke before the motor overheated/damaged if the slipper was too tight.

The new belt is alot less sympathetic and will sacrifice the motor before breaking - so careful slipper adjustments are required. As you must first finish to finish first, I wanted reliability over safety. The belt has been tested on grass and astroturf (5.5 brushless with 18/84 gearing) and operates very well as expected. It's makes the car really quiet and frees up the drive train a good bit.

Pro's
1. Reliability - high strength
2. Adjustable tension
3. Allows for wider band of slipper adjustment
4. Car is much quieter
5. Drive train is more free

Con's
1. You'll loose 3 minutes of your life fitting the tensioner
2. ..... eh, there's no more con's.

A tensioner can be made up from some Losi XXX front axle parts;
1 x XXX front axle
2 x XXX front wheel bearings
2 x XXX front axle spacers
1 x XXX front axle screw
1 x Losi 3/32 nut (as used on steering bellcranks)

This is a "fit'n'forget" part.

£9 (belt only) posted to anywhere in UK and Ireland
pm me for more details

Regards,

Will

No, there is no need to change the front belt.

I tottally ruined mine.
I do like this chassis thou, won so many championships.
If they make a TLR 4wd buggy it needs to be based on this chassis.
