Default B Max 4 Main Gear Slop

I've built the main gear/slipper assembly and fitted in the motor housing. But when I bolt it all down with the aluminium main gear cover, I have a lot of upward movement slop. The bearings will literally move up and down in the housings by nearly a millimetre.

Is this normal, or have I got something completely wrong.

As posted on rctech already, I don't think it is normal. Did you check if the lower cover is seated properly, the motor mount is flat in the chassis recess and the upper deck is firmly pressed down?

I taken the housing back out the car to have a closer look and when its all bolted together it definitely has some upward slop. I'm guessing where the aluminium cover seats on the bearings is slightly short, I will have a go at shimming the gap with a slither of plasticard. Not ideal but should rectify the problem.

A couple of pictures showing the movement, just wonder if anyone else has come across the same problem.
