Default possibility of a race meeting on 30/12/12

To see how it works, we would like to try a one-day event at our indoor venue at Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre and, having spoken with the centre staff, we could have the upstairs room next to the bar and rostrum for pitting which would then allow us to use the full hall for the track.

As they already have the hall booked for most Sundays, with the exception of school holidays, we could run a meeting on the 30 December 2012.

I appreciate that this is just after Christmas and the day before New Year's Eve and the celebrations that come with those but I would like some feedback as to whether it is worth trying this at this time of the year.

We would not want it to be too serious an event and would like to include some fun races and have also considered the possibility of chocolates for prizes etc.

The entry fee would need to be £10 adults and £5 under-13s to cover the cost of the rooms for the day.

So that we can get an idea of interest before making any commitment, please respond if you would attend this type of event at this time of the year.

Many thanks
Dianne

I like the idea, but think it would be more appropriate to do something "Different" with the format.
Perhaps 3 leg finals, or fastest lap in qualifying to detemine heat order? fastest man sets off last in next heat?

Fantastic idea Dianne, I'd be in for sure. I'd love a proper vintage race too, that would be fun to break out the old procat or cougar.

How about a reedy format style race.

That can be quite difficult to do from an organisational point of view.

Sounds like a plan!, 3 leg finals would be nice, especially for the non-national drivers who don't get to do them very often.
