Weather forecast looks promising for friday night too

Doesn't have much impact on racing but does mean your kit wont get wet when taking things to the hall

Does winter racing run later than summer racing? Just asking as it has more categories...

Doesn't the round have to come from the person who does most damage to their car?

I've saved myself so much beer money since selling that X4pro!

Ha ha, I like that suggestion Chris. Just a bit risky given that my Yokomo MR4-Rally is 1998 vintage! Not sure how it's going to stand up to the brushless LiPo generation...

Are you putting a crazy motor in it?

Both my rally car (Tamiya TL01) and the Traxxas buggy I have been racing are of similar vintage And the Traxxas survived the brushless and lipo injection... Although it did sharpen the 15 year old plastic gears super quick, so I changed to metal gears.

drill some holes in the gearbox casing and strap a cooling fan to the side

providing its not too hot a motor they should be fine, you reading this smurfster

next time we have a pairs meet, martin and john should team up as "Shiny Smurf" using only motors higher than 5 turn

Rules regarding the use of LiPo Batteries:

As from the 1st of January 2008 West Bridgford Model Car club will be allowing the use of LiPo batteries. The committee feel that it is now safe to allow this sort of battery and also due to unavailability of NiMh cells at this point, we feel that it is now the time to allow people to use LiPo batteries.

To maintain the safety of people using these batteries and everyone else who is at the club, the committee have put together the following guidelines to which we would like users to stick to if they decide to use LiPo batteries.

· Any LiPo Battery used must be BRCA approved.
· Any LiPo Battery used must be of the Hard cased variety.
· When charging at the club anyone using LIPo batteries must re-charge them in a LiPo sack or a suitable protective container.
· All LiPo batteries must be charged on a charger that is suitable for charging LiPo batteries.
· It is advised that people use a Speed controller which has a LiPo safety cut-off feature or an in-line Voltage cut-off device.
All of these guidelines are designed for the safe usage of LiPo batteries and to prevent accidents. Please follow these guidelines if you intend to use LiPo batteries at the club.

Anyone is eligible to compete in any class but all drivers must have BRCA Insurance which can be obtained through us by becoming a member or sourced by the participant through other means. If new to the hobby then you are allowed to race a maximum of three times before you have to show evidence of having BRCA insurance, we do recommend that anybody participating in radio controlled car racing should get BRCA Insurance as soon as possible.
