Diff Balls??

Hi all. My brother and I will be getting RB6's and FS2's very soon.

Just wanted to see what diff balls you are all running and where I could get 2 full sets for both cars. Would like to build them with them first time save rebuilding them in the future.

There are loads of balls available from various places but as a start I wouldn't change from the kit. The tungsten carbide balls supplied in the latest Kyosho kits will last you ages and are dead smooth.

I'm running the Rb6 standard apart from alloy rear hubs, but they're not essential. It's a really strong car.

I'd run both of them out of the box to start with except for maybe changing to orange springs on the front. They will be really good out if the box. I have put some setups for the rb6 on our Facebook page if you want a place to start.

I have lots of set up info. Come and see me on Sunday at Tivvy don't be shy.
I have an RB6 on the way.
The only real change i have made is the Nic Caro carbon top plate on the Lazer and the vega steering link although i tend to run that in the standard position. All other changes caster toe and and squat come in the kit.

Rob won't be at Tivvy this weekend as he is at the micro national but I'll be there so I will have a chat to you about setups and stuff. Really looking foward to getting the new kits and can't wait to race them

+1 for the current kit balls, perfect for the job and will last very well if built and broken in nicely before the car is run.

When it comes to replacement time I'd say either stick with the Kyosho balls or if you fancy ceramic try the RudeBits ones or Kyosho's own.
I've not tried the RudeBits tungsten carbide ones yet so can't comment on those other than to say they are high spec.

If you need any Kyosho info please ask but as Kev says both cars go straight from box to track with just a front spring change to Orange. From there it's all down to personal preference on the setups and I'm sure you'll get plenty of help if you need it

+2 on that. Daniel ran his Lazer for the first time on Sunday.
It was built as stock and ran really well all day.
I built the car with the shock towers as advocated by Roger with full cap head screws cut to length to get full penetration into the casing. The only thing that I was shy on was easing some material off the rod ends to clear the front diff casing. I was told to stop being such a girl and get the file out to the rod end.

Great car to run - seemed really consistent over the five runs on Sunday.
