Speed limiter issue

Practising yesterday 1/10th buggy with everything fine, loads of punch and loads of speed down the straight.

Changed the Lipos and went for another blast and after about 5 laps the car had no speed down the straight. Fine and punchy in the infield and fine accelerating onto the straight but once hitting top speed it slowed down as though a speed limiter had been fitted to it.

Changed my Lipos because I though there may be a chance I had put a previously used set in but the same problem can back after about 4-5 laps again. The car kit was being run hard all day but I've never experienced anything like this before.

X20 7.5, Hobbywing 12A v2.1, LRP 5000c Lipos.

Back home on checking I noticed there is a small nick in one of the wires to the switch (about half dia of the wire gone) but I can't see this being the issue?
