Hi this is our first RC car.
I have not set it up as it came second hand but hardly used so was set up by previous owner. The problem is that when in contact with the floor I can hear the mototr going well but the car hardly moves. I feel its a diff issue but would value some experienced direction here. If I lift it and run it then the wheels spin ok with the motor but not if its on the floor. Any advise greafully received as this was for my sons borthday 2 weeks ago and he has not been able to use it yet. Thanks Ron. |

could also be the slipper clutch slipping, check this first before the diff, could either be loose or being second hand could have worn pads causing it too not bite enough.

Fixed - thank you, it was the clutch requiring tightening.
Is there a setup point for the cluch ? |

On the gearbox there is a nut with a spring on it, turn that nut tighter then try, go about 1/8 of a turn each time

Slipper setting is a track dependant thing really. The clutch should only slip for first couple of ft from pulling away... If the car is pulling wheelies then its too tight Best bet is too take it too your local track/where you intend too run the car and tweak it till it feels right.

Start off tight and get a bit looser each time, like daves women

Thanks all but tradgedy struck today.
Well not really tradgedy but we struck out. We drove it on large gravel and tried her up a 2m grass embankment where it got stuck. Got to it and it would rev but ont move - striped quite a bit off the teeth of the large gear that the slipper is fixed to. I guess we need a new gear but why would that happen ? Slipper must have been too tight now but none the less... Thanks Ron. p.s. I wish I could find women like daves... |
