ive just just got myself a new brushless setup and a 1s lipo to run in my schumacher superstox.
I was told to buy a turnigy 1s lipo booster to up the the voltage for esc and servo. Now my problem is and im not sure if heres my mistake, but theres no motor response at all when using a 1s lipo (2s is fine) the minimum voltage inputs for the esc are 2s. Does the turnigy voltage booster not boost the voltage for the esc as well, or is that where id need something like the Novakn smart boost? |

Your ESC will have a voltage cutoff pre-set for 2s LiPo. Your 1s LiPO is below that voltage. What you need to do is connect the ESC to a 2s LiPo, decrease (or switch off) the voltage cutoff, and it should all work.

It would be handy to post a link to the esc.
The booster only boosts voltage to the receiver thus powering the servo and the control side of the esc @5v.

all the people at my local club dont seem to be running 1s esc's with 1s lipo which is why i didnt think there would be an issue, pretty gutted coz im suposed to be racing tomorro night which now looks like its off the cards ![]() |

looks like HW clone to me
follow sosidges instructions and you should be fine i run a similiar ESC and have to do just that when running 1S fid |

Your motor/esc combo looks like a hobbywing clone. Firstly ensure you set the voltage cut off to 1S or 3.0v.
Is the booster you have like this: ![]() If so, you need to take a positive and negative lead from the ESC battery terminals to the power input pins. I used an old servo lead with the signal pin removed. plug this into the booster, then plug the booster into a spre receiver port. Also plug in the servo and ESC lead into the receiver. Your ESC on/off switch becomes redundant, as the direct power from battery will power the receiver, so just leave it on and use the battery leads for on/off. It will work and you will get 5v+ supply to your receiver and servo, so it won;t be slow. the key think is that teh ESC does not go into shutdown if the voltage cut-off is set to 2S as it is by default.
