Default 5.5R or 6.5R ?

Hi again folks

Although its still a while away, im slowly getting all my gear together for the Worksop Indoor Winter Series.

I intend running Lipo in my B44 and my as yet unfinished B4FT

I have a GTB Novak for the B44, and a Nosram Matrix Evo for the B4

So far i have a 6.5R Novak for the B44 but im wondering whether to buy a 5.5R, install it in the B44 and put the 6.5R in the B4 ?

So, in a nutshell, is a 5.5R too hot for indoor at Worksop ?. Im no F1 but was a healthy F3 last time i did regionals if you need an indication of ability. ( never enough )

Thanks as ever

Rich

I was sort of in the same shoes and so I put my 6.5R in my B4 and instead bought a GTB and 5.5L for the B44 I'm now wihsing I had a 6.5L for the B4 as I think it would be perfect for me.

I think a lot of ppl are over powered now a days.
and a 6.5 is just about right. in a 4x4 and 7.5 in a 2x4.

But really it all depends on the track.
if you really want to know whats best for you then you'll have both of them ready for action.
I've seen ppl run 7.5 go faster around the track then ppl running 6.5 & 5.5 .
I think you need to find the right motor for your driving style.

Worksop is a slippy surface, early on especially, if i were you i would run a 6.5 in 4wd and a 7.5 in 2wd. It doesn`t have a huge straight either so you dont need massive top end.

I know rich lowe has been running a 7.5 in his 2wd and its not slow, its probably just easier to drive as your not lighting up the tyres all the time.

I ran a 6.5 at Worksop in the 4wd, made many A's and finished 4th overall I think.

When Neil Cragg turned up he won with a 7.5 in his 2wd.

Worksop indoors in low grip

In all honesty a 6.5R would be fine with Nimh cells, a 5.5 with Lipo would be massivly overpowered for worksop!!!

I'm also going slower and smoother motors, now most often a 7.5 in 2wd and it varies between 6.5 and 5.5 in 4wd, but that's with 2008 Nimh cells.

We have a fast and long track with a couple of good sections to open up. I run a 5.5R in the 4WD and 6.5 is good for the 2WD.

What are other people running at your club?

Edit - Just noticed you put Lipo - Erm...lary with a 6.5 and probably a bit much - once again depending upon the track.
