Thumbs down More electrical problems...wtf is this (sorry)

This day..was planed to be the final drivning day before the seasons first race..... first pack..a little "glitch"..hmm, mja nothing. just drive..and YES..the car was working ace.. Pack after pack...the car was just running.

But the 2 last pack that was charged and ready to race, it begun. i always trottle and break a little before i put my car on the track...and the car just dies after breaking...and suddnley jumps to start...full trottle, and it cuts...allmost lke "cogg", but the Rx lamp on my micro spectrum, shuts down...relesing trottle, and i can give some smooth trottle...and more trottle, and slam brake, and it is dead...it jumps start again..putting the car down, and it working, shut down etc...

im tryning, new servo,Rx, another m8s radio...but still this problem..

It feels like Cut off...it almost feels like the Tx loosing the Rx...

I will try tomorw, a new radio + Rx same ESC...

if no good, i will try my Ko Helios again, BUT with my AC S2 Esc (that i know works)

I have 2 TC SPEC on RMA in US...if this ESC is bad, im not sure anymore..i have a NIB 07 comp here, but no way i wil put it in my car... if it is the Tx i mean my Helios and Spctrum modul, im kissed for the season...

SOme how i realy hope it is IN Lipo mode..but im not sure...i will se... is it normal that the LRP esc loosing the programs?

First of all put new batteries into the TX and the RC. Check the RX lead that goes into the receiver on the edges it may be loose.
If that doesn't solve the problem try and turn the punch/drag brake down a bit on your ESC and see if it still does it. If it doesn't then your batteries are dying and can't handle the voltage the motor wants.
Finally check your capacitator (If you have one) to see if its damaged or bulged. If it is replace it.
Take all your electrics out of the car and see if it still does it. If it no longer does it, it could be a problem with the car.
Change the motor to see if it still does it. If it solves it, it will be the motor that is the problem.

If it isn't any of these then try resoldering all your wires. You might have a dry solder or dirty joint.

Hope one of these solutions work.

Also try on a different crystal if your using 27mhz or 40mhz but by the sounds of it your on 2.4ghz. In which case make sure your TX and RX are bound together.

When you have problems like this there's only one thing to do: Use the method of elimination. Change ONE item at a time until you isolate the problem.

Did you test your batteries on a good discharger that can measure internal resistance? At least measure the volt of each individual cell and see if you have a sick one.

Tried 6 cells? (a pack you know is good)

Try and change the motor also. I have an old B/L Nosram that started acting like you describe... they can be very sensitive to dirt and moisture...

I'd try a different type of receiver also. I have several Spektrum receivers and not so good experience with them Futaba FASST is much better!

Good luck!

if you are getting shutdowns (receiver light going off then back on) you need the voltage protection cap, once fitted, you shouldn't get any more problems.

them pesky voltage caps are essential, even if you don't have an issue, run one and you never will!

I've done exactly that, run one from day 1 and never ever had a Spektrum problem!

Yeah it has definetly increased, litterally exploded for this race.
Last season there where about 20-30 entries on a race.
This vinter season we have driven 2wd buggy as a "guest class" on touring car races.
And I personally think this has opened the eyes of people usually driving touring cars..

Hopefully races will continue to be this well attended, or even increase more, in the future!

Default Are 2 caps recommended ?

I already have a cap fitted to my LRP ESC that comes pre fitted, should I put an extra on on my Spektrum reciever as well ?

setup is
LRP 5.5 Brushless
LRP Sphere Competition ( with defualt power cap )
Spectrum DX3R

No issues to date after I turned the LiPo option off

If so can you let me know the spec of the cap so I can order one from Maplins
