Default Loaner cars at WORM

My next idea is try and got a stock of loaner cars sorted out for newbies to come and rent out/use...

My idea is this...rather than buying lots of new cheap cars, electrics and radio gear, maybe we could all think about what we have lying around at home already that you don't use?!!

What do you think? Anyone got anything lying around that they wouldn't mind donating to the RC world to entice newbies in? It wouldn't have to be fast or top spec, anything really...cars, batteries, speedo's, motors, transmitters, anything really...the slower/cheaper the better almost in fact as for newbies that's all you need...raid your junk cupboards!!!

The club has less than no money right now so couldn't offer you anything much in return...except maybe free racing/track time...which we could consider perhaps?!?! Once we're up and running this might change, but for now we just need to think laterally I think!

What do you reckon?

Good idea in principle, I know people that'd pop up if they had something to race...

I've got a 13.5t brushless motor, modified brushed motor, some old servos and some 27mhz radio gear kicking about somewhere if anyone has a roller to stick it in, just the normal leftovers I bet everyone has in the cupboards.

EDIT - Unless you charged £15.00 a meeting to rent a car you'd probably be out of pocket after taking into account tyre and drivetrain wear and crash damage repairs. Makes you realise why everything costs so much to rent when you think about it!

YDMRCC have a fleet of club HPI touring cars BUT I'd assume their tyre and repair costs were far lower than an off-road clubs....

Yeah, it's all more of an idea at the mo, and fee's etc will all need figuring out to keep it viable.

To be honest this is more about a gauge of what we can lay our hands on to begin with.

So far electrics are easy...not had any offers of cars/chassis's yet though.
