Default North Yorkshire / Harrogate area site

I think we need an outdoor track in North Yorkshire

Could people start asking around for land in the Harrogate area for any PRIVATE land that may be available for developing a permenant outdoor track.

Considerations to think about are: -

Location to local housing, ie noise and local vandals
Drainage issues ie flooding
Has to be big enough for parking also
May need to put up a toilet block or potra loo
Camping option may be nice but thats probably long term

The BRCA has lots of advice on setting up tracks and dealing with local councils, offers of help have been mentioned in other posts

I know there is lots of land about, if U see something please dont just post "THIS LOOKS LIKE NICE SPOT", ask the land owner first, be realistic when you describe what is needed, I'm looking to establish a perm outdoor track.

I am prepared to invest a lot of effort and time and some cash into this if we can find a good location, I appreciate this is not a one man effort and if I can get the ball rolling I would look to turning this over to an exsisting club or forming a new club and getting other people helping and investing.

There used to be a Harrogate club with an outdoor track, but it all slowly died off. Not really sure why. Maybe the land could still be used if people are willing to run the events? I used to like the track tbh.

BTW, YORCC is looking for an outdoor home too.

Blyth needs a new crew - the track is 90% there permanent venue, rostrum, race control, toilets, cafe large flat area for parking/camping, separate astroturf area etc .. just off Blyth roundabout on the A1 - 20 min from sheffield.. Its perhaps a little far away but its practically finished ! PM me if you want to discuss

sadly putting a track on private land is always going to be easier said than given given insurance / planning issues etc etc. Would be great if York found an outdoor track though.

Default My main track is York

My main track is York, have not asked them yet but if we can get a local track York would be my first choice to support run this btw BRCA provides insurance, its a bonus of your membership fee)

Do we have any rich people with really big gardens in the club ))
This is what I managed to acheive in 1 week on my own, previously it was 6 feet high in brambles and littered with rubbish and broken glass

Yeah but we need a proper club really, deerdale are running some rallycross meetings there very nicely but to develop the 10th side more we need a larger bunch of people willing to put time into the track..
