Carbon fibre upper plate - differences between law44 and Nick Caro set

As above really, is there any difference between the kyosho carbon fibre set and the nick caro one? I have acquired the kyosho set and wondered if I should put it on. I race at torch mainly which is a high grip astro track. Tried searching but kind find an answer.

Should be, something like more lateral flex for one and more longitudinal for the other.
Definetly good for high grip (got the one from Nick).

I ran the Kyosho one , ummm nothing other than better stiffness as opposed to the plastic upper plate.

i cannot report on Nicks one as i never used one , although im sure its just as good.

When I ran my FS2, I only ran Nick's top deck but I found it a definite improvement on high grip over the kit plastic one. It doesn't take too long to swap over, so why not try back-to-back runs?

The layups are different, Nick's are multi-directional, Kyosho's are uni-directional.

The Kyosho ones were, as I understand it, designed to add traction by removing some of the deflextion evident in the plastic top deck. They went uni-directional so as to not add any lateral stiffness and thus keep the torsional flexibility of the assembly. VERY good when the grip is low as loads of forward drive without compromising side-bite / lateral grip.

Nick's, by having a multi-directional layup, not only increases traction but also reduces the torsional flex a little. This means that you still get loads of forward drive but a slightly reduced level of side bite ... we all know how much of that the Lazer FS2 has anyway!

If I had both I would run the Kyosho rear deck in low grip situations and Nick's rear deck in high grip situations. I don't believe the front section is long enough for the layup to really matter (might be proven wrong in the future) so can run either Kyosho or Nick's.

Actually having typed all that I'm thinking of getting a Kyosho rear deck to have as a tuning aid on my current Caro supplied assembly!

I should have said in the above that my personal preference would be to buy the full kit from Nick and the Kyosho rear deck from JE Spares that way you get the tuning options and carbon battery straps at the best possible price.

Thanks for the info Roger. Think i'll try the kyosho one and take it from there, bit pricey to buy both!
