Discostu on here has one on his 210, saw it go indoors and it looked great on track, don't think he's ran it outside yet though...

Looks a good option but you have to use the rango cab forward shell with the dimec chassis

as mark said i used this chassis at round 1 of the offroad wars the car with this chassis had a top three potiential partialy due to flex and partialy due to its length the car was far easier to drive with the plastic than with a +10 alu chassis.

it was a good back to back test at this meeting as i unfortuantly snapped the plastic chassis in round 3 due to a massive head on colision at full speed with a losi 22 also at full speed it was a good testenment to the strength of it

looking at the lap times my round 4 and A final times were just over 0.5sec slower per lap than my round 1&2 times. whicch is why their is a brand new one already straped on the car.

im not overly keen in the body however but it does work very well

Which one are you using? The harder one or the softer more flex one?

Do you really have to use the +8 shell? couldn't you just not use the cut lines up front on say the finisher shell?

Did you find there was any other setup changes from the stock chassis?

I used the rtr chassis (soft plastic)

yes you do have to use the shell as the side pods are a different shape

and yes you would have to change the setup after round 4 i increased the front and rear oil by 2.5wt to compinsate for the extra weight i found with the alu chassis the car would feel lazy to change direction.

however there is no reason the original chassis or a alu +8mm to be any slower as jorn is proving as we speak he is running a +8mm today.

ive ran the rtr chassis on wet astro 2day . didnt change setup just changed the chassis and put new ballistic greens on.
i felt that it smothened the steering out without loosing grip,
flown better over jumps and slightly better traction.
i had the the battery stop at the back also .

I just posted this question above I didn't see this post. In Canada carpet racing has gotten huge in the winter. I was wondering about the stiff DIMEC20 for carpet no? In less the carpet is low bite? Then the DIMEC would be better?

Anyone tried the two on carpet yet, I would like to order one this week.

Around me we have a huge indoor carpet track that is really high bite and there is also a few smaller tracks that aren't really hard bite. So I'm not sure what one to get?

Thanks

Tried the two on indoor astro turf and much prefer the softer rtr one. This is new astro turf and the grip is currently medium to high. Our outdoor track when dry is very grippy and I think that in that situation the harder chassis will be better - but I can't try that now until Spring.

I have 3 questions:

1.) Do I really need the new cabin or is it also possible to mount the old one?

2.) I heared that the Dimec would break easily, can anybody confirm this?

3.) Is there a huge difference between the standard aluminium and the Dimec20 chassis in the handling of the car?

Thanks!

1) Different shaped side pods (it says earlier in this thread)
2) the only time thats been said is about a week after they launched it, so probably utter rubbish, IIRC one of the team drivers commented as well. (no breakages thro several months of running a prototype) Since then i think one person has reported a broken chassis after a head on crash with a tlr22.
3) no idea

Here some pics of dimec +8mm with standard body:

The only real problem seems the rear mount hole, although you can always remove the mount post
