Default Scam?

Got this email about our caravan that is for sale. Scam?

Hello,
Thanks for your quick response and am also excited to hear from you the caravan is still available for sale and thanks for the details you just gave about the caravan and am quite delighted to hear from you that the caravan is still in great conditions.Since all the details you put on the advert are updated and real,i think there is nothing to worry about and also i want you to know that i won't be able to come for the inspection of the caravan as am a very busy man here in Switzerland.
I will make you an offer of £3700 which I think is fair enough for the caravan because i know the worth of the caravan and more so what you’ ve stated about the van details in the advert page and the maintenance of the caravan you’ve spent so far since you bought it.

I will take care of the shipment because I had already consulted a private shipping company who’s going to handle it professionally for me both the shipping cost and other necessary activities concerning the shipment of the caravan and my preferred method of payment is by bankers draft or Cheque in a (GBP) that’s the 2 options and safest way for me to transfer CASH which am going to instruct my business associate to post you a bankers draft via post office.

I want to you to know that i will only take the possession of the caravan once the bankers draft has cleared in your account within 3 to 5 working days so you have nothing to worry about.
Hopefully to hear back from you today in order to proceed further with the payment and shipping arrangements as soon as possible.
Bankers draft only required your FULL NAME and your POSTAL ADDRESS i did not request for your bank details.

In my next email i shall let you know the details that is required from you to enable the bankers draft gets to you by post office.
I look forward to hear back from you today.

Something seems a bit fishy to me about it! Why would someone from Switzerland by a caravan from the UK and then get it shipped over.......

Get the cheque, Pay the money in. Draw the the money out.
When you have the dosh in hand let the van go.

Any concerns just ask your bank what the correct procedure is for bank drafts, certainly don't give him any bank details
Not really sure why he feels the need to send you a second email about more details needed to get it to you by post, if he has your address then surely that's all he needs? it may just be his english coming out wrong & he may be on a level but it just sounds odd to me

It looks similar to an email a friend of mine received when trying to sell some expensive items. When pressed for more info that 'buyer' disappeared.

If it were me I would insist on speaking to this prospective buyer on the telephone, you can establish a lot from a short conversation.

Simply put.Another form of money laundering.sometimes they even offer you more than your selling for and ask for the difference to be paid back.i.e. give you a cheq for £10,000. and say for your inconvenience just pay me back £6,000.

Definitely.

They send the bankers draft, you pay the bankers draft into your bank and you then have the cash in your account. You assume a bankers draft is as secure as cash and you send the goods on. Two weeks later the bankers draft bounces just like a normal dodgy cheque.

That isn't money laundering, it's a plain old scam.
Pay the cheque in for £10,000 and wait for it to clear, then send a cheque back for £6,000. Original cheque bounces two weeks later when it's cancelled and you've lost the goods and £6,000!

Just google Bankers draft scams. Thats the same format that hundreds of scammers use every day and people still fall for it.
Email him back and tell him your dog got in the caravan and had an accident on the seats. See if he still wants it after that.

+1 on the "avoid" advice if for no other reason than the guy has no grasp of punctuation. Reading that lot made me feel out of breath.

I'd report it and wouldn't contact the scammers again.
