Default ESC trouble shooting

Got myself a Speedpassion Citrix Stock Club speedo with 10.5t motor.

Now I am following the instructions on how to set it up, but it will simply not move the motor once set up is completed. I am pretty sure I am following the instructions, and it is just out of the box so shouldn't be broke!

Any tips?

How are you setting it up?

Is it beeping when you go through the setup process? Are all the wires correctly installed - motor, sensor, and receiver?

Yeah, I do the setup, it beeps all in the right order as per the instructions, then I wait the 3 seconds, turn it off, turn on, then...nothing!

I should say that I have not put the motor in the buggy yet, so it hasn't had a pinion on it. But that shouldn't matter right?

Well, it looks like all it needed was a pinion on the actual motor. Weird!
