I'd start at 20 and work from there.

first tip.... get one of the x11 spurs on order, the origianl x10 black spurs are rubbish! (also the wrong size so i hear)....

gearing i would go with a 19 and work from there.... make sure the mesh is perferct otherwise the spur will strip in a couple of laps

Hi there i was too wondering about gearing. I am currently running a 5.5R and a standard spur. I have put on a 15 tooth pinion on to give a overall ratio of 11.8746. But when i ran this it started to cut out. It may have been from something else as the speedo was only fairly warm and not hot (I could easily keep my hand on the speedo and the motor). So any advice would be appreciated.

If it isn't getting hot, I would guess the gearing is fine. When you say it "cut out", do you mean the motor stopped working? or the whole thing switched off?

Just the motor cut out, the steering is fine. But then after a couple of seconds it is fine again , but only if i am very smooth on the throttle. otherwise it just cuts out again.

sounds to me like a faulty sensor wire or a loose motor wire that is not making a good connection.

It sounds similar to the problem I have had recently. The problem I have got is with my Sensor wire. I don't know whether it is in the speed control or the motor, but will run some tests later to find out
