Default Orion R10 Speedo - Savox 1258 Glitching Issue

I have recently bought an Orion R10 Pro and teamed it up with a Spektrum SR300 & Savox 1258 servo.

I'm having major issues with the servo glitching. I've tried a 2nd brand Savox 1258 and it was even worse than the 1st one.

I've tried an old Savox 1251 Low profile servo and that works 100%

Has anyone had problems with the 1258 Savox Servo and Orion R10 Pro?

The 1258 draws a lot of power, if you put the car on a stand and move the steering left and right you may be able to see the pt light flicker. The only solutions I know of is to either fit a power cap to the receiver or run an external BEC.

It's not a speedo issue but a receiver issue, typically related to the Spektrum with high current draw brushless servos.

Put a cap on the receiver and you will solve the glitching issue.

Thanks Guys.

Spektrum power cap ordered. Hopefully that should fix the problem.

I have had exactly the same issue with a R10 Pro. I tried verious servos and receivers but had no luck curing the problem.

It was fine when the battery was fully charged for a couple of laps then as soon as the voltage dropped a little it just kept freezing the servo.

I'd be interested to hear if the Receiver cap sorts this problem, but i would also be worried that as the voltage drops you may see this gremlin re-appear.

I would not agree, I had exactly the same issue with this speedo and the ONLY item i changed was the speedo and everything works perfectly now.

I tried the speedo with various servos and even different receivers but as soon as the voltage dropped in the battery the glitching happened.

I now run a Nosram V2 with exactly the same stuff and have never had this issue re-appear.

Had exactly the same issue with my R10 esc and 1258 servo in my C4.1, even lost power occissionaly at the far end of the track. I simply took the electrics out and reinstalled them with a little more space between them and made a neater job of the wiring and all was resolved. No more issues.

Anyone know the rating of the Spektrum cap? Need to knock one up and test it sharpish, or my nice new R10 will be pulled out and my trusty HW 120 will go back in
