wasnt this when they ran xxxs front wishbones? ive looked on line and the only thing i could find was this from the worlds (not this year)
Take a XXX-S rear forward pivot and rear pivot and use that on the car. It will bolt right on. Use the -1 degree antisquat pivot. You will need longer hinge pins. Either traxxas T-Maxx hinge pins work, or you can cut them yourself out off of some old XXX-T MF1 CVD's. Then use the standard XXX arms, with a XX-'cr' rear hubs. I used the 1 degree hubs. You will need to put quite a few shock spacing shims in front of the arm on the hinge pins to shim it properly (the arm should be all the way back to match the stock location). What this does essentially is give you a wider pivot, making the rear end work a little better. This should work better on most tracks, smooth or rough. Drive Train: Steel dog bones and steel outdrives, tight diff.

from memory you use the front-forward pivot plate from the tc modified to fit and the standard front-back xxx4 pivot blocks with the red inserts
think you need to trim some material off the mount as the wishbones are too wide |

I remember people turning the wishbones over or swapping side to side to increase wheelbase?
Sleigh would be best to ask.

The mod I remember is...
Run the rearward front mounts from a XXX-S which straightens the pivot pins, and then flip the wishbones front-back. The woshbones require lower shock mount holes drilling. By running the XXX-S blocks you straighten the pins, but in the process also shorten the wheelbase. By flipping the arms you get back to something like the original wheelbase. Ran this in conjunction with the extended steering arms. (not that we'll be going back in the near future, but this set-up was "chank" on the dirt at Tiverton. ![]() Also try XX4 shocks on the rear as they seemed better over the bumps. You'll need to double check the driveshaft plunge as it's close to coming out of the diff half. Easily fixed by running different CVD axles or bodged by shimming. |
