Opinion is divided on this however the majority of people do seem to believe that having the shocks behind the wishbone is of benefit.
I personally believe that this is due to the way the forces on the wheel give rise to torsion in the wishbones (which are realy symetrical) and thus effecting the performance of the shock (shocks on rear of wishbones being better).
Others say its a weight related thing.
I was having this discussion at the weekend with Jonathan from Atomic Carbon, Craig Harris and Mick Doughty ..... I think we all agree that rear mounted shocks are better over stuttery bumps and land better on bit hits.
I am sure 20,000 people will disagree though...
