Carbon fibre to match the rest of the car I think would look great for the battery strap! But definitely to fit the 4 screw holes in those battery trays (please stop using Phillips screws though!)
I like the idea of polishing the shocks to match your alloy bits. Talking of which....
I've taken a look through my spares box and have a spare set of RW steering, but there's a catch!
It only has one alloy post and that one looks like one of the threads has stripped, they could do with a clean up too.
