have been quite surprised by the core rc 4000 shorty's, i have a couple of them and a couple of orion 4500's and really cant tell the difference in 2wd, one thing i did notice after forgetting to change battery and running 2 races and a few minutes extra with the 4000's is that from 3v per cell they took nearly 4500 to charge... just noticed the original post is about 4wd, my 4wd uses 2500-3300 per race so 3800 to 4000 is probably a minimum as the deeper you cycle the batteries the more life is reduced
