You could try 6.5 or 7.5 and then turn it down over the speedo. LRP speedos are a little more adjustable when it comes to power profiles than others out there.
Running the standard bodyshell, the Sphere Competition just fit but if you get a speedo with a fan on top you will probably have to take the fan off and stand it up somewhere in the car.
If you are racing on carpet the best tires would have to be Schumacher yellow minipins at the back and staggered ribs on the front. That is if it's carpet entirely. Some like the feel of pins up front too but it becomes tricky to drive and set up. If you are in the States these tires will be just about impossible to get...
