Micros are a cost-effective way of enjoying competitive racing whether you are a novice or an experienced racer.

1/18 cars were the original micro buggys e.g FTX Blaze.
1/16 cars were developments of these. e.g. long wheel base LRP shark.

Around 2010 - 2011 these cars were taken out of production.
At that time, Carisma (better known then for touring and pan cars) introduced a 1/14 buggy.

Faced with the prospect of a class that would die because of lack of cars to race, the BRCA Micro Section altered the construction rules to include the 1/14 Carisma. Later Losi introduced the Mini8 and LC Racing the EMB-1.
These are the cars which now race the BRCA Micro National Series.

Whilst some clubs may still race 1/18 and 1/16 buggys, 1/14 is the current norm.
Many clubs will run a Micro heat if there are enough entries.
Best to have a look at what clubs are doing in your area.
