That 18-200 lens would also be my idea (cheap Sigma), as you save the changing of the lenses vs. dirt (no dirt shaker in the Nikon like in the Olympus E-500)....and as we all love off-road places...you never know

On the other hand, the 18-200mm sucker easily sets you back 300 Euro + the D50 or D70 or a "rumored" D80 or D90 (8MP)....oh wow, wonder if I really dare to throw ca. 800 Euro over my shoulders...if there would not be the trip planned to India next year...where a new camera would really make so much sence...

Nikon, as I understood it, prefered to offer a 18-55 and 55-200....so the 18-200 Sigma probably won't kick it at both ends....well, 300 Euro is in the world of optics not that much money I have to admit ...
