is this gluing xray specific?

Most manufacturers recommend diff lub between the diff rings and outdrives.

I have even glued once an associated b4 diff by mistake thinking that was the 'proper' way to do it. But it made the diff react very rough. Since that day, I never ever glue diff rings.
