It seems to be the ball joint/drive cup. The ball joint sticks on part of the roation

I have stripped the car down this afternoon and the gearbox turns nicely by hand as it did before. I took my time with the build and followed some good online video tips for the ball diff etc

All of the drivetrain turns nicely by hand. Once pinion attached it is a little firmer but its the rear left driveshaft that "sticks" part way round.

I have run the car this afternoon at home in the street and all electrics are still alive and well !

I have sprayed a little GT85 in the drive cup/ball joint which seems to have helped (it hasn't, see update below)

An odd thing to come across early on
