If your truck is new then this can be normal. Try just leaving the battery connected for a while (even though the light indicates it is not charging) and then try (several times if neccasary) to charge the battery by connnetcing and re-connecting. This often "activates" the cells and they will be fine from then on.

All that happans is the charger does not "recognise the correct voltage of the battery when it is connected, so it trickles a small amount of charge into the truck battery to "get it going" then usually it is fine
