It won't make it any quicker at all. Get the program box you your turnigy and add some boost or turbo if you need to go any quicker, or mess with the breaking or punch controls (you may already have this box?). I suspect it's quick enough already. That Gen2 is actually a newer speedo design and is basically (like lots of others) a hobbywing clone, built to a price. They work great, and at a good price point, and if you get a good year out of it (you should if treated well, like anything else) then that's a win. If you are not running specific class that requires a Blinky verified, BRCA approved speedo then carry on and run it for your club racing.

The Novak is a brand name, and of an older design (again a hobbywing derived unit). It's more difficult to program, doesn't have the punch, breaking, turbo and boost controls of the turnigy, and won't make your car any faster or smoother than what you have. Save your money!
