The big problem with hard cased LiPo's is that you can't see the physical condition of the cells.
This is a very important safety issue as if there is any 'puffing' on the cells then charging them will almost certainly result in a fire situation as they eventually split and oxygen get's in.
This has happened before in the UK on more than one occassion.
As with any LiPo battery, charger type is very important.
The Cell Pro 4s charger has algorithm balancing which means that if there are any detected problems with the cells then it shuts down.
None dedicated balancing chargers simply do not do this.
Using a Cell Pro charger means that it's safe to walk away whilst it's charging and also the pack life will increase dramatically.
The pigtail balancing lead from the packs are not generic but can easily be replaced to become compatible.
LiPo is the future in my opinion but a lack of knowledge on the technology is dangerous.
