I run a standard DX3.0 (not spektrums race version) with no capacitor and have had no glitches what so ever, i cant comment for spektrums race system but the menu on mine is quite awkward. Id have a look at both and see what you prefer, all i know for sure is 2.4ghz makes life alot easier
