It depends how you want the car to be. The RTR is a good car for beginners and club racers, you probably wont go any worse than if you had an all singing all dancing FT B4 until you start improving, but you may want better equipment in yours, therefore the FT B4 is a perfect car. A 5.5 will be way too fast, most of us run 6.5's and thats with several years experience. I would suggest a 7.5 tops. If you are planning to race it you will need 2-3 battery packs, which if you are just club racing wait for the cells to be sold on here as most of us national racers will be buying new ones for this season.
