Hi.
I've been running my EMB-1 for almost 2 years now and think it's a cracking car for the price.
i'd recommend buying the standard kit over the RTR as you only get plastic shocks and shock towers etc and these will need to be upgraded to alloy - as is standard in the normal kit.

The ONLY upgrades you'll need are the crush tubes for the wheel bearings (£4.99 from thumbs designs) and i'd personally recommend the carbon steering drag link (£12.50 from sos-mmrc.com) - that's all!
The spec of the standard kit means that you get front CVD's (you don't need rear), alloy motor mount, gear diffs, allen head screws, even a set of pinions as standard.... you could get a set of losi/carisma soft springs but that's really all you need to make it very competitive.

The only thing i've broke on this car is the steering knuckle arm - but the latest ones have been beefed up to stop this - if you build it right there are no weak points that i've came across.

Electrics wise, i'm running the Savox 1257 servo (i've never tried the kit one but i've heard it's ok) Emax 4950 motor and hobbywing 35A speedo (you don't NEED the 60A) - with this set up you'll be fine for nationals or club level racing.

I hope this helps.
