I use Royal Oil I think or maybe it’s something jelly, can't remember now, made by Trinity comes in a handy bottle with really long 'pin' which helps to get to bearings in really awkward places.

Regarding cleaning of brushless motors, I’m pretty sure you should never use motor cleaner! Buy a can of 'air duster' meant for cleaning PC keyboards and give it a good spray now and then.
