Default Running with a undertray indoors

I would like to know your inputs on running a under tray indoors on carpet. Firstly the heat issue, as we cannot make holes in the body shell on 1/10th buggies does this leads to higher temps. We currently use short pile carpet and hoses filed with stones/grit. as track makings, but inevitably some of the grit(all be it tiny fragments) gets onto the track. therefore most of it ends up in side my car and lately in between spur and pinion.. So that's why I am looking at using a under tray. also the hall is heated for our comfort so this makes temps rise a bit anyway. most don't use a under tray but get lucky. currently running a b44.2 with fans attached.
