I thought racing with such a broad range of abilities to be a very different and interesting experience, as it meant you had to use your peripheral vision a lot more to anticipate the faster guys coming up behind you and look out for the slower cars and incidents. Certainly during the later races I managed to make up places by anticipating and avoiding incidents ahead of me to make up for my mid pack pace. Pressure got to me occasionally, but great to be testing my mettle with some quality National drivers!
I thought the juniors raced excellently, certainly on the pieces of track I marshalled and raced on, letting the lapping cars through and keeping their cars going round with some big egos on the rostrum and as Dudders mentioned, they were also keeping some of the bigger ego's honest!  |
