you dont need a balancer its not a nesecity, it just helps the life span, i know of a pack that did over 100 hard cycles and it took less than one min to balance back to original
i tried a 20c pack over my 30c and i did notice a lack of punch on high grip,
for a bit extra you can have 30C peak which is becoming the norm
